Jello vs. Jelly
A few days ago I bought some chocolate Jello pudding packs. If you know my kids - they love anything chocolate. So of course Alex was asking if he could have some right there in the store. So I told him if he was really good in the store and on the way home I would give him some when we got home. So as soon as we walk though the door he turns to me and says "Mom, I been good. I want Jelly." So everyday since I hear "Mom, I been good. I want Jelly."

Jam
Ok. So today for the first time ever by myself I made jam. Apricot jam. With LOTS of sugar. And it turned out really good. Now we have 8 little half pints sitting in my cupboard just waiting for some toast or bagels or english muffins or anything else I can think of to put it on.

Happy 24th
Alex, Spencer and I went to Bountiful's 24th of July parade with my family while Ben had class. We saw fire engines and tractors and ponys - all of which Alex had to point out to everyone.
Spencer is showing his patriotism by waving his flag and then he whacked me in the face with it.

Alex played cards while we waited for the parade to start. I think Ryan ended up owing Alex $10.
Spencer ate anything and everything Aunt Dani gave him

Alex played cards while we waited for the parade to start. I think Ryan ended up owing Alex $10.
Uncle Mike "helped" Alex go get the candy that was being thrown. Somehow though Mike's pockets were overflowing with taffy after this. But we all had a great time. And next year Ben is coming with us to hold up the umbrella.

Fun in the sun
They were having so much fun splashing, sliding and getting mom wet.
Finally it was time to go in. Then it all fell apart. Boys crying, mom going crazy, neighbors wondering what's going on. But from the pictures it looks like we had a fun day. Thank goodness.
Good Job Mom!
Yesterday I took Alex to go potty ( Oh, the joys of potty training). After he goes on the potty I always tell him "Good job Alex" I'm big on the positive reinforcement. So I let him go play in the living room so I could use the bathroom. When I came out, he saw me and said, "Good job Mom." It's all about the positive reinforcement.

Play nice
Last Sunday while the boys were taking their naps Ben and I were in the living room talking and we got into a tickle fight. I was winning and Ben was screaming like a little girl and we hear from the boys' room "PLAY NICE!" I guess Alex hears it so much he's dishing it back at us.

Back to Vancouver
It was time to say goodbye to Chrissie and Kadence. Although Kadence told her mom to go home with Auntie Condie and Alex could have her seat on the plane. It was so nice to have them come visit and great for Alex to have someone on his own level to fight and play and fight with. We'll miss them but I'm sure we'll see them soon. Tillamook here I come!

The 4th
We had so much fun! We decided to do all things Layton this year. So we went down to Layton Commons and just missed to breakfast but got a great seat for the parade. The boys absolutely loved the fire engines. After the parade we went over to the field where food and shopping vendors were set up. A Baptist church group comes and makes the most delicious BBQ. LOVED IT! Then we walked around and saw what everyone was selling. We had to leave to go get the kids in bed for naps but that night we let them try sparklers and pop its. Alex was really the only one who got into it. Spencer want to touch the sparkler and Kadence was to afraid to hold it. But we had a fun day. Can't wait till next year!

Spencer turns 1!
My little baby finally turned 1. He sure had an exciting first year. We had family and friends over for his BBQ birthday party. Alex helped unwrap Spencer's gifts and decided Spencer needed help breaking in his toys so Alex has offered his services in showing Spencer how to play with all his presents. Spencer especially enjoyed his chocolate cake!!!

More Zoo!
We took the kids back to the zoo because Chrissie and Kadence needed to see it. We have a white alligator on exhibit. Both times we have gone it has just sat there not caring that people were looking at it but this time it followed Alex. It got up and swung around and poked its eyes up above the water and just watched him. Then when he would move the alligator would move too. Alex was so freaked out he wouldn't turn his back to the glass so I could get a picture. Kadence was much braver and half turned.
