The Pre make sure I can do it cake

So I am doing my sister-in-laws' wedding cake in July and am way excited about it but I needed to know how difficult it was going to be and if at the last minute I might be buying her a cake to make up for the horrible messed up one I did. So I tried a mini version of her cake to see where the pit falls were and to see what was going to take the most time. Her cake is a three tiered fondant covered topsy turvy cake. The one I did was all that but only 2 tiers. It took most of the morning and afternoon but I got it done in one day which really surprised me but she loved it and didn't want to eat it. Here is a picture of it. Let me know what you think.

We miss you already Stephie

Stephanie headed up to Alaska for her first tour with the Air Force on Friday. So on Thursday night we had a Condie free for all. We had a picnic and then the games began.
After a couple games of volleyball (these aren't normal games of volleyball :) most of us were pooped but we stuck it out and played around some more.
Then when Ben and I had to leave to get the kids in bed we had a few candid shots so we can remember Stephie until we see her again.

Bye Bye Stephie. Have fun and be careful!

It's a girl!

Ryan and Sarah found out that they are having a girl. We are all so excited for them and can't wait till October to meet the newest member of the Condie Clan. Sorry Barth's but she's going to have crazy Sarah hair and that makes her a true Condie Girl. And the best part of the whole thing is that Ben can't tell me to stop looking at little girl dresses now!!! Ha ha ha ha!

Alex turns 4

My little baby boy turns 4 today. I've been talking to him about turning four because when asked he still says he's 3. So now he says, "I turn 4 on my birthday."
His primary teacher made him a Lightning McQueen birthday cake that he just couldn't leave alone. Whenever he got near it he kept saying, "I not touching it, I smelling it."
We had a family party for him on Saturday and he was so excited that everyone came to see him and more importantly they brought presents for him. He really understood it this year.
He got not one but two golf sets this year which he LOVES. He switches all the clubs from one to the other. One has a handle and wheels and the other has a strap. So he has been playing with those non stop. He also got a big wheel trike. Ben and I agree that the old school big wheels were much better but Alex seems to like his. He got some great new clothes and other fun toys.

I just can't believe how big he has gotten. But he'll always be my little round butter ball baby. Love you Alex!

San Antonio

So mom and I got in LATE Monday night and the only thing open was a Chevron. So we grabbed some very dry sandwiches and other snacks and headed to the hotel. Then the lovely person who had the room before us set the alarm for 6am so that was when we were rudely awakened. Then 22 minutes later Stephanie calls my phone to tell me that there is some great Texas fog outside so I need to get up and see it.
It wasn't that impressive at 6:25am.
So the first time we got to she her was when she was graduating. Here she is after she got her pin. And then here is a shot of all the medals they were giving away that day.
Here is Steph and I at our celebratory meal at the Cheesecake Factory (YYYUUUUUUMMMM).
And you can't go to TX and not see boots. We found the biggest ones we could.

So the next day we had some time to kill before we could offically take Steph and not have to give her back. So mom and I went to the zoo. Mom thought the alligators were robots because they weren't moving. lol. Then she freaked out when one twitched its head. It was hilarious! We also got some fun shots of the planes on base.

That night we hung out at the hotel and went swimming. Mom chickened out because she said the water was too cold. Just because our leg hair grew an inch in an hour doesn't make it "freezing" mom.
Then on Thursday we went downtown and saw the Alamo and Riverwalk.

So there is our trip. It was a quick one but it was fun. Although we were excited to get out of there and be properly dry again back in Utah.

I'm back!

I got back LATE last night with my mom and Stephie in tow. San Antonio was nice but it was weird and hard to be away from my boys. I couldn't even enjoy my boy - less sleep. Anyway I will be posting pics of the trip in the next few days.
