Final Cake

Ok, I know you've all been waiting and crossing your fingers for this ;) TaDa!! Here is my final cake for my classes. Out of 5 people, I'm the only one who showed up for the final night, so I got a lot of good one on one instruction.

Family Update

A lot has happened the last few weeks and I've been too busy to blog about it so, I'm just going to do it all at once.
Stephanie
She found out that she's going to be stationed in Alaska after she's done with her technical training. She is super excited about it. Alaska was her first choice on her "Places to go - wish list" so she is pretty happy. Mom and I were going to go down for her graduation but it's been put on hold for the moment because Steph doesn't know yet when she's graduating. (Might be nice to know that Stephie!)
Danielle
She is with her second companion and this one she's having to work at. She's not quite as "in tune" with this one as she was with her trainer. But she says she's working on it and still very much enjoying her mission. They are teaching a few people that she's excited about and she's loving the people of NC.
Sarah and Ryan
A few days ago they told everyone that they are expecting a little baby in Oct. We are all way excited for this and especially me because I'm not the one producing the child! I'm very excited for Sarah and she'll probably get so sick of me and all my advice. (Sorry Sarah, but your going to get whether you like it or not ;) They have moved in with mom and dad for a few months and are looking at buying a house by the end of the year.
Mike and Lindsay
Drywall. That's really all that they are up to that I know about. They are finishing up their downstairs and trying to get it all done. While doing all of it Mike has sustained a few injuries. I'm sure by now he's caught up on his tetanus shots and hopefully will watch what he's stepping on in the future.
Jen and Ben
We are finally out of debt!!!! YEAH!!! Except for the house ;( But everything else is paid off!!;) Gotta love the tax return. It's such a great feeling and we've been doing the debt free dance all week! So now we can save up for that trip to somewhere warm and wonderful but we're not quite sure where that is yet. Alex is enjoying being a big brother and is really into books right now. He loves to sit down with a book and just "read". Spencer is loving getting in to things. He's into the whole "I know mom's talking to me and telling me not to do or get into this but I'm going to pretend I don't hear her so I can get into it anyway" phase. It's fabulous. But we are all loving the warmer weather and can't wait till Spring is actually here and we can all go outside for hours at a time.
Mom and Dad
Well I'm sure they are so excited to have the house full again:) After months of only having visitors and peace and quiet ALL the time now they get to enjoy some full time company!
Well, I think this sums up everyone. I'm sure there is much more going on but if I don't know about, it doesn't get put in blog;)

I share with you

Alex is figuring out sharing. He really doesn't like to share (like all other 3 year olds). But mom makes him share his room, toys and treats with Spencer. He hears the word share A LOT, mainly because he's not doing it. But he has come up with a way to put a positive spin on it. When mom has something he wants he comes up and says, "Mom, I share with you." It's a back ended way to get what he wants but mom has to do it so as to set the example of sharing. So now whether he wants the good kind of cereal (frosted mini wheats) or the ipod to listen to, he knows now how to get what he wants. Stinker.

Carried Away

So, I'm getting a little carried away with these cake classes. I thought I'd just take one but now I've ended up doing the second and am now signed up for the third. Which hopefully will come in handy because I've been recruited to do my sis-in-laws wedding cake. Here is a pic of my second class cake.
