Princess Mama
Some of the things your kids say are just priceless. Like when your in the grocery store and they say, "You're old!" to the person standing behind you or they repeat something from their favorite movie and no one gets it so you have to explain where it came from and why they are saying it at that particular moment. Then there are those that just make you want to squeeze them and just make you feel good. Over the weekend we were playing at Grandma Bonnie's house. She has big square foam pieces that fit together to make a larger mat. Well Alex being the boy he is, doesn't mind that the Disney Princesses are on them, he still runs his trucks over them and makes houses and forts with them. So we were making a house with the door and everything when he realizes that there are princesses on it. So he kept saying the rest of the day, "Princess on my house." So today when I was on blogger he saw the picture of Ben and I and he said, "Princess mama." When I asked him about it he said, "Princess mama marry daddy in the temple." What a sweetie.

Grandpa turns 80!
I love my Grandpa. He is the only grandparent I have left so when he has a birthday as big as number 80 you had better believe that we celebrate it. Almost all of his brothers and sisters were able to make it and the great-grandkids just love him. We played games and made a quilt for him with pictures of him and grandma and their kids and families. It turned out beautiful thanks to Aunt JoEllen.

Spencer's walking!
Spencer's been flirting with the whole walking thing. He knows that crawling is faster but he has to hold everything in his mouth when he crawls. If he walks he can hold more things in his hands but he can only go four or five steps at a time. So Wednesday he woke up and said, "I'm going to walk today." He just got up and started walking. He's still a little wobbly but if he falls down he just gets right back up again and takes off.

Finally in the House
Well I finished painting the cabinet a few weeks ago but we finally brought it over to our house and put it in the backyard so I could distress it and put on the doors. While Ben was painting a bookshelf inside and the boys were sleeping I was outside trying to get it all done as fast as I could because it was starting to sprinkle. Finally I had to ask Ben to come help. So we finished it up and brought it inside. 20 minutes later it started pouring. Here are a couple of pictures. I wish I would have gotten one of it before I started but oh well, just imagine it with a mix of dark and light green paint on it with patches of red.

Temple Square and Touchdowns
We haven't been in downtown for a while so today on Ben's day off we went down and walked around Temple Square. They are starting to put up the Christmas lights and there were at least 3 weddings happening in the half hour we were there. So we were dodging white dresses and photographers and cranes. But it was a beautiful day and the boys even sat sit for a few pictures.

Then that night we went to the local high school football game. It was homecoming and our neighbor was homecoming king. It was Layton High against Davis High (rivals for I don't know how long) In the end Layton pulled off the victory - Go Lancers. We couldn't find a seat so we ended up on the grass which was probably better for us cause the boys just couldn't sit still. They felt like they needed to be in the action too. But it was a great game and we all had a fun time.

Those Condie Girls
Once a Condie, always a Condie. That's our motto. So it was no wonder we had a blast at our "Last Condie Girl Extravaganza Slumber Party"
Unfortunately Lindsay couldn't make it so we had to go a little more overboard than normal just to make up for it.
We ate pounds and pounds of pasta and gallons of ice cream and we laughed so hard I'm sure someone had to go change undies (Sarah). Anywho we started off the night with putting on our "Homemade Condie Girl Slumber Party T-shirts" and then we started in on making pendants. They turned out so cute.
We had to make a run to Michael's craft and pick up some paper for Sarah. On the way we decided that only the cool Condie's sat in the back seat so Steph abandoned Sarah and climbed in the back with me and Dani.
Then we found out that one of Sarah's seat belts was stuck so Steph spent the whole drive trying to fix it. (She did in the end but we're not sure if the car can be put back together now. Whoops.)
We made it back to the house just in time to catch Mike and Lindsay for a minute. After Mike and Steph wrestled for 15 min with Mike's ego barely intact we put a gardening bonnet on him and took a picture.
Then we finished up the pendants and let them dry. Steph started making magnets for mom's frig and the rest of us started in on Sarah's bridal shower invites she's doing for her soon to be sister-in-law.
Then we hit the big screen TV with mounds of ice cream and "The Office" game Sarah brought. It was hilarious. Steph finally won even though she had the least amount of Schrut bucks.
Finally we were ready to crash so we popped in a movie and fell asleep to the snores (I hope they were snores) from Steph.

Oh Happy Day
Alex didn't want to take a nap. He rarely does anymore. So I put Spencer down in his crib and for a treat I let Alex sleep in my bed. After putting them down I went downstairs to catch up on some things. After 45 min. I could still hear two boys upstairs. One was running, jumping, playing with toys and the other was laughing/whining because he couldn't get out and play too. So I went upstairs and found Alex in the living room running around with his Mater truck - clearly not asleep. When he saw me he just grinned and said, "Mom, be quiet - Spencer sleeping." So I went back to the boys' room to get Spencer who was now crying. Alex followed me and when he saw Spencer he said, "Oh look, Spencer woke up! Oh, look mom - I woke up too! Is a happy day." I couldn't help but laugh - what a happy day.

Spencer
We cut Spencer's hair again. Ben loves it. I miss the curls. He was using my colander as a hat and then playing peek a boo with it.
He also figured out how to clap. So cute. I'll try and get a video up of it.

Beautiful
The weather the last couple of days here has been absolutely perfect. Mid 70's to low 80's, light breeze and crystal clear blue skies. I've taken the boys out into the backyard during the late afternoon and we've just had a ball. We play, run, play in the kiddie tent, slide down the slide, throw frisbees, ride tricycles, play in the toy house, play in the sandbox and roll around in the grass. I forgot how much I like to play outside and especially how much I like to smell the grass. The boys are a hoot to watch. Alex is still learning how to share and Spencer can take those few threatening steps to get what he wants. I wish summer would last for a while longer so I can enjoy it with my boys.
